Meet Indie, a severely injured dog was dropped off at a shelter in Immokalee, Florida last July. Indie, was allegedly used as a bait dog for dog fighting, his injuries were so bad, his nose was severely disfigured and upper lip was completely gone.
Fortunately, there are humans who were kind enough and took this poor dog to Gulf Coast Humane Society, where he was treated by a specialist and after further examination of the wounds they suspected that the dog had been used as a bait dog in dog fighting ring, which he was shot in the face and left to die in the ground.
After Indie’s story went viral, donations from concerned dog lovers horrified by the cruel abuse this dog had endured poured in. These concerned people made a Facebook Page in Indie’s honor, where updates from donations he receives shared with those people who followed his story.
After Indie went medication and treated for the horrible wounds and infection on his face, he was brought home by Michelle Rosner, Executive Director from Veterinary Technician Program at Heritage Institute in Fort Myers. Rosner said that they were so happy, in behalf of his team, in such wonderful environment to heal emotional, physical abuse and neglect.

Indie’s care will be rather expensive and to help pay for the extensive treatment he needed it was shouldered from Second Chance Fund, set up by the Gulf Coast Humane Society to help raise some fund for the sick animal badly needs help. Despite of the disfigured nose he still able to breathe on what left on his nose.
Gladly, Indie now enjoys the life he deserves and play with his buddies.
